Biography:
Professional: As a starting pitcher for the Texas Thunder of National Pro Fastpitch in 2004, James dominated the pitching circle with a 13-3 record, posting an impressive 0.89 ERA and pitching 14 complete games. Peaches pitched 119.1 innings, allowing only 17 runs while striking out 112, leading the Thunder to a first place regular season finish in the inaugural season. James suited up for the New York/New Jeresey Juggernauts for the 2005 season. A 2005 NPF All-Star…went 14-5 with the No. 4 league ERA at 1.55 and ranked third amongst NPF pitchers, striking out 138 opponents…her 14 victories tied her with current teammate Jennie Finch for third-best mark in league standings…started in 19 games and completed 12, giving up only 28 earned runs while facing 518 batters in 128.1 innings pitched. James was sidelined by a shoulder injury for the 2006 season.
College: In her senior campaign, James was named second-team NFCA All-American as she led the Nebraska Huskers to the Big 12 Championship title. James, the 2004 Big-12 Player of the Year and Big-12 Tournament MVP, ended her career as the single-season strikeout and shutouts leader at Nebraska, as well as the career strikeout and shutouts leader. In her senior campaign, she posted a .70 ERA, with 37 wins and 394 strikeouts in 298.1 innings pitched. She was also named the USA Softball National Player of the Week for her performance from May 10-16. James ranks in the top five in school history in nine different career pitching categories, also including victories (second, 98), innings pitched (second, 917.1), ERA (fifth, 1.21), saves (fifth, nine), complete games (second, 101), no-hitters (second, three) and perfect games (tied for first, one). In her junior year campaign, Peaches was named First-Team All-Midwest Region, First-Team All Big-12, and All Big-12 Tournament honors. She managed a 1.55 ERA with a 23-13 record in 243.2 innings of work. She amassed 250 strikeouts to rank third on the all-time Nebraska Husker single season chart. James also ranks fifth on the All-Time Single Season chart in complete games (61), saves (9), and shutouts (25). She ranks fourth in Husker history with strikeouts (551), innings pitched (619) and victories (61). As a sophomore Peaches earned First-Team All Big 12 honors once again finishing the season with a 22-9 record with a 1.33 ERA. James earned Co-MVP of the year in her freshman season at Nebraska pitching 12 complete games out of the 19 she started. She posted a 1.37 ERA in 148.1 innings of work. She led the Big 12 with a 6-0 record and a 0.67 ERA in all league games.
